Max's Story
Max, a beloved Labrador retriever, was known for his constant companionship, always following close by, nudging for head pets and attention. His boundless joy was evident in the enthusiastic tail wags that greeted every return from work, a happy anticipation of a well-deserved treat. Now, free from pain, he runs and plays with other dogs, undoubtedly still chasing those backyard raccoons, waiting patiently for a joyous reunion.

Verse 1
From the very first day, a shadow by my side,
A loyal Labrador, nowhere left to hide.
You followed me everywhere, a constant, loving plea,
Just wanting my attention, looking up at me.
A gentle hand upon your head, a moment sweet and true,
The bond was set forever, just me and you.
Chorus
Oh, Max, my dear friend, thirteen years we knew,
Every single moment, precious and so true.
Your wagging heart, a comfort, through the sun and rain,
Now I feel your absence, but I'll remember all the same.
Verse 2
Each day when I'd come home, from work's weary grind,
Your joyful greeting waiting, the best I'd ever find.
Your whole body wiggling, that tail a happy beat,
Then sitting patiently, waiting for your treat.
A loyal, loving presence, a spirit wild and free,
Those small, sweet daily rituals, meant the world to me.
Chorus
Oh, Max, my dear friend, thirteen years we knew,
Every single moment, precious and so true.
Your wagging heart, a comfort, through the sun and rain,
Now I feel your absence, but I'll remember all the same.
Verse 3
Through countless quiet moments, you were always near,
A gentle, steadfast presence, calming every fear.
By fireside or sunrise, your head upon my knee,
The simple joy of knowing, you were here with me.
A constant, warm companion, through every passing year,
Your loving, loyal spirit, shining ever clear.
Chorus
Oh, Max, my dear friend, thirteen years we knew,
Every single moment, precious and so true.
Your wagging heart, a comfort, through the sun and rain,
Now I feel your absence, but I'll remember all the same.
Bridge
I hear your final whisper, carried on the breeze,
"I'll meet you when my time will come, and put your heart at ease.
Until then, play and be happy, chase the racoon from our backyard,
And know that in my memory, your spirit's safe and guard."
Harmonica Solo
Final Chorus
Oh, Max, my dear friend, thirteen years we knew,
Every single moment, precious and so true.
Your wagging heart, a comfort, through the sun and rain,
Now I feel your absence, but I'll remember all the same.
Outro
Now you're playing freely, with other dogs, no pain,
Running through green meadows, happy once again.
A peaceful dream of chasing, beneath an endless sky,
My sweet, beloved Max, you never truly die.
Outro - guitar fade
