Ziggy's Story
From those early days on the back porch to comforting nights sleeping at the foot of the bed, Ziggy, the spirited Belgium Malinois, filled every moment with his loving presence. Every day was a special moment, filled with warm embraces and tender kisses on his head, a bond cherished through retirement and joyful car rides with his head out the window. We imagine him now peacefully sleeping in the shade of a big tree, soaking up beautiful sunshine, and joyfully playing with Scooter once more.

Intro - acoustic guitar, harmonica
Verse 1
I remember first seeing you, a young Malinois so keen,
Laying on the back porch, a peaceful, loyal scene.
Then sleeping by my feet each night, a comfort in my bed,
A gentle, furry guardian, loving words unsaid.
We'd hit the road together, no journey too far to roam,
Your head out of the window, bringing joy all the way home.
Chorus
Oh, Ziggy, my dear boy, for four and a half years we shone,
My loyal, brave companion, now you've gone to your own.
A love so pure and boundless, a spirit wild and free,
Forever in my heart, Ziggy, you'll always be with me.
Verse 2
Every single moment, a day-long, sweet embrace,
Retired and together, you filled my empty space.
With holding close and kisses, upon your noble head,
A bond so deep and honest, words often left unsaid.
It feels too soon, my sweet boy, this quiet, empty room,
A shadow cast so suddenly, dispelling all the bloom.
Chorus
Oh, Ziggy, my dear boy, for four and a half years we shone,
My loyal, brave companion, now you've gone to your own.
A love so pure and boundless, a spirit wild and free,
Forever in my heart, Ziggy, you'll always be with me.
Verse 3
We'd lay upon the living room floor, side by side,
A silent understanding, nowhere left to hide.
That Memorial Day morning, as the new day shone bright,
I felt your final breath, extinguishing my light.
The tears still fall like rainfall, a constant, heavy stream,
For my love for you, dear Ziggy, was more than just a dream.
Chorus
Oh, Ziggy, my dear boy, for four and a half years we shone,
My loyal, brave companion, now you've gone to your own.
A love so pure and boundless, a spirit wild and free,
Forever in my heart, Ziggy, you'll always be with me.
Bridge
I whisper in the silence, though you're beyond my sight,
"I love you so very much, Ziggy," with all my heart and might.
That love will live inside me, a beacon ever bright,
Guiding me through darkness, and into morning light.
Instrumental - banjo, acoustic guitar
Final Chorus
Oh, Ziggy, my dear boy, for four and a half years we shone,
My loyal, brave companion, now you've gone to your own.
A love so pure and boundless, a spirit wild and free,
Forever in my heart, Ziggy, you'll always be with me.
Outro - acoustic guitar fade
Now sleeping in the shade, beneath a strong, tall tree,
Soaking up the sunshine, for all eternity.
Playing with old Scooter, a joyous, happy sound,
You're waiting patiently, until we meet again on hallowed ground.
